Light Image was founded on one guiding principle: to bring light design and video content closer together. The brainchild of Bas van der Poel and Jeroen van der Velden, Light Image has been integrating years of experience in the field of lighting design with the development of powerful media servers. 

The development of our modern media servers was spurred on by the rapid emergence of video as an alternative—and complement—to set design. Live adjustments without render times, artistic composition without limit, and an efficient method of programming: all made possible through the synergy between our technologies and broadcast industry standard systems.

Since 2011, Light image has proven that great value lies at the interface between light- and video-departments. Moreover, by using the Light Image media servers, lighting and content creators are able alter the color palette of the production, the look and feel of the visual effects, and the speed at which they run—instantaneously.

Today, the company specializes in: lighting design and supplying experienced lighting operators; designing motion graphics and content production; and the (international) leasing of its media servers. Further, their collaboration with various set designers allows Light Image to provide complete designs for both large and small productions.
